The trailer of the Mirzapur season 2 has been released on YouTube. There are still so many hypes for the web series, as the series is returning after two years. That is a very long break between the consecutive seasons of any show.
The series is returning on the 23rd of October at Amazon‘s Prime Video OTT platform. The web series is set in the district of Mirzapur that is located in the eastern region of the state Uttar Pradesh. The story of Mirzapur revolves around four characters. Akhandanand Tripathi AKA Kaleen Bhaiya, the uncrowned king of Mirzapur, runs a drugs and arms business, under the guise of a carpet manufacturing company, his son Phoolchand AKA Munna Bhaiya, two brothers Guddu Pandit and Bablu Pandit, played by Ali Fazal and Vikrant Massey respectively.
At the end of the first season, we saw how Munna destroyed the life of Guddu by killing his brother Bablu, and his wife Sweety (Shriya Pilgaonkar). In Mirzapur season 2’s teaser, one can hear Guddu sharing how the world is divided into two kinds of people – alive and dead. But guess he falls in the third category – the injured.
The cast of Mirzapur remains almost the same as that of season 1. The earlier cast included Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Vikrant Massey as Bablu Pandit, Divyendu Sharma as Munna, Shweta Tripathi as Golu, Shriya Pilgaonkar as Sweety, Rasika Duggal as Beena Tripathi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda as Satyanand Tripathi in the lead and other supporting actors. In addition, Vijay Varma, Priyanshu Painyuli and Isha Talwar will join the cast in season 2.
The new series of Mirzapur see Guddu take revenge against the Tripathi family after Munna killed Sweety and Bablu. After witnessing her sister’s murder, Golu (Shweta Tripathi) will join Guddu to take down Munna and Kaleen (Pankaj Tripathi). However, Guddu will be under threat from Sharad (Anjum Sharma) after Guddu killed his father Rati Shankar Shukla (Shubrajyoti Bharat).
Pankaj Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya shared the trailer of the Mirzapur season 2 on twitter as a full-length video. Gurmmeet Singh and Mihir Desai directorial Mirzapur 2 is produced by Excel Media and Entertainment. Talking about the return of Mirzapur, Excel Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani said, “Bringing thrilling and untold stories from India’s hinterland without losing authenticity has been our biggest win. A few days ago, Amazon made the first season of the Mirzapur web series FREE for the viewers. It means, the people who do not have a prime video’s subscription can also watch Mirzapur season 1 for free. So now there is a golden opportunity for those who haven’t watch the first season of the show. Because without watching the first season there is no fun in watching the second.
